From his base on the edge of Dartmoor, Matthew specialises in one-off commissions and enjoys making specialist harness, saddlery and props for the film and television industry. This has included some of the chariot harness in Troy and working on Tomb Raider 2 and The Four Feathers. His most recent foray in film was to make period leather props for Wonder Woman.

Relishing conventional bridle he is pleased to sponsor international event rider Lucy Wiegersma, supplying her with bridlework. Made to measure bridles, either in-hand or riding remain a favourite commission.

Recently employed as a consultant for World Horse Welfare and The Donkey Sanctuary, as part of their overseas programmes, Matthew enables overseas saddlers and harness-makers to help with the relief of suffering caused by inappropriate and badly fitting saddlery and harness. He has travelled to Mexico, Haiti, Ethiopia and Kenya on behalf of these organisations.
